Youth Leadership Beatrice is a program designed to educate through experience, motivate young leaders, and enable them to take an active role in their community. This will result in strong leaders who have hope for the future and the tools to influence a positive and progressive community.
Youth Leadership Beatrice provides an opportunity to study, practice, and develop group and individual leadership skills. These skills include Leadership roles, qualities, and styles. Interpersonal relations, project planning, goal setting, civic responsibilities, decision-making, problem-solving, meeting skills, and communication. This program provides real-life experiences and gives students the support and structure necessary to deal effectively with those experiences. Youth Leadership Beatrice strives to provide students with leadership skills that will last a lifetime. The course requires a few out-of-school time commitments. Class size is limited and open to BPS 8th, 9th, and 10th graders.
